Regarding the retrofit installation process, it involves five straightforward steps:

1. Disassemble the fan by unplugging the power connector, removing the blower assembly, the junction box/wire panel, and the duct connector.
2. Prepare the ceiling opening to 9 x 9 inches, leaving the existing ductwork and wiring in place. Install additional wood support beams on both sides above the ceiling opening to secure the metal housing.
3. Insert the housing into the ceiling opening.
4. Secure the housing flange to the support beams, connect the wiring according to the diagram, and attach the ducting to the duct connector.
5. Reinstall the blower assembly and the grille, completing the installation.
